A soulful devotional song presented in the sweet voices of Grammy Award winner Padma Shri Shankar Mahadevan and Master Deenanath Mangeshkar Awardee Riva Rathod reaches the audience.

‘Palkhi Nighali Varila’, a new devotional song that captures the spiritual ambiance of the Ashadhi Wari, the continuous chanting of Lord Vitthal’s name, and the deeply touching faith of the Warkaris, has been released to the public. The song was recently unveiled by Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde. Immersed in the chants of Vitthal’s name, the rhythm of taal-mridangams, and the unbroken devotion of the pilgrims, the song offers everyone a firsthand spiritual experience of the Wari.

This song is enriched by the vocals of renowned singer Shankar Mahadevan and the sweet-voiced singer Riva Rathod. Riva, the daughter of veteran singer-composer Roop Kumar Rathod and singer Sunali Rathod, has made her Marathi singing debut with this song. Her melodious voice lends a unique, emotionally touching height to this devotional track. Veteran composer Roop Kumar Rathod composed the music, while Dr. Deepak Waze has powerfully captured the essence of Vitthal devotion, faith, and the Warkari tradition through his lyrics. The beautiful music video for this song was directed by Mrs. Shweta Parulkar, and the song is presented by DFF.

Released on the auspicious occasion of Ashadhi Ekadashi, this song offers an authentic feel of the Warkari community’s devotion, unity, and heritage. Showcasing the grandeur of the Palkhi procession alongside the chants of “Vitthal… Vitthal…”, the song is set to ignite the lamp of devotion in the heart of every devotee.

Singer Shankar Mahadevan expressed: “While singing ‘Palkhi Nighali Varila’, I felt as if I were personally experiencing the Wari. We have tried to express the devotion to Lord Vitthal, the enthusiasm of the Warkaris, and the pure, divine energy of that atmosphere through this song.”

Singer Riva Rathod shared: “Wari is an unbroken journey of emotions and faith. Being a part of a song based on such a sacred feeling is a matter of great joy for me. Listeners will surely feel completely immersed in the name of Vitthal while listening to this track.”
