To commemorate the historic Diamond Jubilee of the Border Security Force (BSF) completing 60 years, a grand Volleyball Tournament titled “Spandan – Sports for Peace and Development Across Nation” was inaugurated at the BSF Camp premises in Bagma, Udaipur. Organised by BSF Sector Headquarters (SHQ) Udaipur, the tournament will be held over 4 days, starting from 26th August and concluding on 29th August 2026.
Shri Gajraj Yadav, DIG, Sector Headquarters, Udaipur, was the chief guest at the event and formally inaugurated the tournament. Other senior officers present on the occasion included Shri Ajay Kumar (Commandant, 169th Battalion BSF), Shri Sunil Kumar Mishra, 121st Battalion BSF, and Shri Biman Dev, General Secretary, Tripura Volleyball Association. A large number of BSF personnel, their families, and local school students were also present.

Opening and Welcome
The programme commenced with the welcome address by Shri Ajay Kumar, Commandant, 169th Battalion BSF, who welcomed the guests, players and spectators and requested the Chief Guest to declare the tournament open.
In his opening address, Chief Guest Mr. Gajraj Yadav emphasized the power of sports to unite communities and build a better society. He urged the athletes to spread the message of harmony, peace, and brotherhood, reminding them to maintain strict discipline and high sportsmanship. He also encouraged everyone to showcase their best skills on the court.

A total of eight talented teams representing various districts of Tripura are competing in this tournament. In addition to discovering and nurturing local sporting talent, the BSF aims to strengthen goodwill, trust, and cooperation between the security forces and the local population through this tournament.
