The ultimate box office storm is about to make landfall, and Indian cinema is bracing for an unprecedented takeover. Releasing in theatres worldwide on Wednesday, August 26, 2026, Rocking Star Yash’s multi-crore psychological gangster epic Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups is perfectly positioned to dominate a massive, extended festival weekend.
Amidst this raging excitement, a fierce wave off-screen pan-India sisterhood has set the promotional trail ablaze. In a stunning moment from the film’s star-studded pre-release tour that made a pitstop in Chennai, Bollywood powerhouse Kiara Advani heaped praise upon her co-star Rukmini Vasanth, dropping hints about the mystery of Vasanth’s character, Mellisa.
Addressing a roaring, stadium-sized crowd, Advani couldn’t contain her awe. She said, “You’re not ready for it yet, but in two more days you’ll see what her magic is. Rukmini was so endearing I cannot tell you. And to witness the love the audience has for you… Oh my god, you all are going to have a treat when you see Toxic. She has some of the most fun lines. I’m not sure how civilised it will be. But you will have a blast for sure.”
Far from a conventional character , Mellisa is locked, loaded, and armed with sharp, unfiltered dialogue that promises to disrupt the film’s world.
With Yash commanding the chaos in a fierce dual role, and a powerhouse cast including Nayanthara, Kiara Advani, Tara Sutaria, Rukmini Vasanth and Huma Qureshi the gates of the underworld are opening. If Kiara Advani’s promise holds true, the mid-week holiday audience are in for a big celebration of cinema on the 26th of August.
