Mumbai – Renowned sculptor Bhau Sathe’s autobiography, “Ha Dhyas Jeevanacha,” was launched at the Nehru Centre, Worli, on Thursday. Raj Thackeray was honorary guest who condemned prevailing disregard for great artists like late Sadashiv alias Bhau Sathe. He said, “We grew up admiring Bhau Sathe’s sculptures. If certain painters and sculptors had been born in a different country rather than India, they might have received significant recognition.”  The event was organized by the Sadashiv Sathe Memorial Museum and Granthali. Eminent personalities like senior painter Suhas Bahulkar, film producer and director  Ravi Jadhav, senior journalist Sudhir Jogalekar, graced the occasion with Granthali’s Sudesh Hinglaspurkar and books co-author  Satish Kanhere.

Sri Satish Kanhere stated that he felt fortunate to have been part of this journey with Bhau Sathe to take deep dive in story of his life to write autobiography of Bhau Sathe. Sudhir Jogalekar appealed to the government to formally acknowledge the contributions of Bhau Sathe, in the upcoming birth centenary next year. Suhas Bahulkar suggested that such books should be used as study material for art students. Ravi Jadhav encouraged all individuals to explore Bhau’s art gallery in dombivali, to understand him more after reading the book.

In reply to a request for his influence in obtaining government acknowledgment for Bhau Sathe’s achievements, Raj Thackeray expressed, “Let us unite our efforts to bring this to fruition together. If you seek my support, please empower me, and I will dedicate myself to achieving the best possible outcome.”

The event was compered by Dhanshree Pradhan-Damle, with Shrirang Sathe and Alpana Lele, son and daughter of Bhau Sathe, respectively, delivering the introductory speech and vote of thanks. An exhibition showcasing Bhau Sathe’s sculptures will be available for public viewing at the Nehru Centre, Worli until August 19 from 11 am to 7 pm.
