From Stage to Cinema: Actress Shruti Madhudeep’s Stellar Journey with a Lead Role in ‘Paach Footacha Bachchan’
‘Paach Footacha Bachchan’ Hits Theatres on October 9
The mystery surrounding who plays the titular role in the intriguing upcoming film ‘Paach Footacha Bachchan’ has finally been revealed. Young actress Shruti Madhudeep makes her cinematic debut in the central role of Paach Footacha Bachchan. Notably, Shruti also essayed the same role in the original play of the same name. Paach Footacha Bachchan is scheduled to release in theatres on October 9.
Written and directed by Kaustubh Ramesh Deshpande, the film is produced by Rahul Karnik and Orpheus Studios. The ensemble cast features prominent actors including Gauri Nalawade, Shashank Shende, Chinmayee Sumeet, Kshitish Date, Kishore Kadam, Aashay Kulkarni, Pushkaraj Chirputkar, Omprakash Shinde, Sameer Patil, and Vinod Vanve.

After working extensively in theatre and short films, Shruti Madhudeep steps into the film industry with a lead role. Speaking about the film, Shruti shared:
“I was naturally drawn to the arts since childhood, always drawn toward opportunities in singing, dancing, and acting. After learning Kathak for eight years, I gradually transitioned into theatre. Once I realized that acting brought me the greatest joy and complete immersion, I tested myself and my craft across various plays and short films.
During this time, I had the privilege of working with veteran filmmaker Sumitra Bhave. Assisting her gave me a deeper understanding of cinema as a medium. It gave me clarity on how to perceive stories, understand content, and live life as an artist. That experience led to me landing the lead role in her short film ‘Sakharepeksha God’.
Around that time, the play ‘Paach Footacha Bachchan’ began. For an urban girl like me, playing the role of a rustic girl from Kolhapur felt like discovering hidden treasure. The play received a fantastic response. Doing the play, seeing it adapt into a feature film, and playing the central role in it feels surreal. This is my debut film as a lead, and the entire journey behind it has been deeply enriching.”
