It’s been 11 years since Sai received the Maharashtra State Film Award, and she’s overwhelmed with joy.
“This award is a special appreciation from my Maharashtra state,” says Sai.
Sai’s rising graph in her career continues to soar, and she has won the Best Actress award for ‘Pondicherry’. The film features Sai in a striking role, and her performance has been widely discussed for its simplicity, multilingual dialogue, and portrayal of a mother.

Sai’s character Nikita in ‘Pondicherry’ is multifaceted, and she shines in it. Expressing her happiness about the award, Sai says, “The experience of working on ‘Pondicherry’ was unique and amazing. We had to do everything ourselves, from hair styling to costumes, which made us self-reliant. The film captures the essence of Pondicherry beautifully, and working with director Sachin Kundalkar was a delight. I’m grateful to the Maharashtra government for this award, and I’m proud to be recognized for my work.”
This is Sai’s second Maharashtra State Film Award, with the first one being for Best Supporting Actress for ‘Duniyadari’ in 2011. She’s thankful to the cultural department and the honorable Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis for acknowledging Marathi cinema.
Sai has proven her acting prowess in both Hindi and Marathi industries, and she’s set to appear in more impactful projects in the future.
