The upcoming Marathi film ‘Uut’ is making waves at various international film festivals. After striking success at the Cannes Film Festival, the film has now earned another laurel at the Sri Lanka International Film Festival 2025, where it won the award for Best Feature Film. Expressing his happiness, the film’s lead actor and producer Raj Misaal said that the overwhelming response and multiple recognitions that ‘Uut’ is receiving are truly gratifying. He added that these awards are proof that their effort to tell a meaningful story through the film has been successful.

Produced by Vera Films and written-directed by Ram Malik, ‘Uut’ tells the story of a struggle against the system. The film, however, not only portrays a tale of conflict but also weaves in a love story. Actor Raj Misaal plays the male lead, while actress Arya Save is paired opposite him, making their debut as a fresh pair on the Marathi silver screen. The film is slated to release by the end of this year.
Before its official release, ‘Uut’ has already garnered attention at several prestigious film festivals including the Malaysia Film Festival, Eastern Europe Film Festival, East Village New York Film Festival, Cinesine Film Festival, Sri Lanka International Film Festival, Manchester Film Festival, and Ahmedabad International Film Festival. With such remarkable recognition on the global stage, ‘Uut’ is undoubtedly set to stand out as a unique attempt in Marathi cinema.
