“It’s All About Conviction and Action”: Ramira Taneja’s Wild Flowers Selected for 15th Dadasaheb Phalke Film Festival 2025

Film professional Ramira Taneja, who co-produced the feature film Love You Shankar in 2024, adds yet another feather to her cap with her directorial debut short film Wild Flowers making its official selection at the prestigious 15th Dadasaheb Phalke Film Festival 2025, to be held in New Delhi.

With Wild Flowers, a poignant short film of just 6 minutes and 30 seconds, Ramira marks her foray into film direction. What has turned heads in the industry, however, is not just the film itself—but the innovative and trailblazing marketing campaign she designed around it.

Ramira launched the shortest trailer ever—just 30 seconds—alongside a striking poster, a YouTube premiere, and testimonial bytes from industry professionals. This never-seen-before campaign, usually reserved for full-length feature films, generated significant buzz, setting a new benchmark in short film promotions.

“I’m overwhelmed with the love Wild Flowers is receiving. I’m also deeply grateful to the industry colleagues who came forward to support the film and contributed their voices to our campaign,” shares Ramira. “Fifteen years in the film industry have taught me the power of relationships, perseverance, and authenticity.”

Despite advice from peers not to venture into the short film format after her solid Bollywood experience, Ramira remained undeterred. She believed in the power of storytelling—regardless of length or platform.

“It’s all about conviction and action. If you believe in something strongly, take the necessary steps, and everything else will follow. We made Wild Flowers on a shoestring budget, with non-actors, natural locations, and a minimal crew—but the craft, grammar, and treatment reflects the standards I’ve honed over the years. We completed the shoot and edit within 24 hours,” she says.

Ramira’s journey into films began when legendary filmmaker Yash Chopra noticed her in a dance drama performance in Delhi, offering her a glimpse into newly formed Yash Raj Film Studios. Though that initial opportunity didn’t materialize into a career breakthrough, it lit the fire within her to train, evolve, and stay relevant across genres and formats.

Exploring the festival space, she says it has been very welcoming and there are many people behind one’s success and it’s a team work with god’s will. At this time, Dadasaheb Phalke Film Festival (New Delhi) selection comes as a booster for her to understand that her conviction was correct and that despite all odds she kept going that has made her come so far.

Recently one film festival hosted by Om Puri Foundation fecilitated her as film jury with dignitaries like Nandita Puri, Aseem Bajaj, Brahmanand Singh, Jasmine Babbar, Sanjay Khanduri, Bobby Vats. “They got so impressed with the marketing I did for my film and noticed the efforts that they wanted to collaborate with me and gave me this opportunity to be the festival jury and I accepted it gladly.”

At present Ramira has few scripts and projects ready and is looking at finding collaborators, partners and funders.
