Republic Day Celebration at Karnataka Institute of Leather & Fashion Technology, Ullal Upanagar, Bengaluru

Bengaluru, 26.01.2025: The KILT celebrated the 76th Republic Day with great enthusiasm and patriotic fervor on January 26, 2025, in the institute premises. The event began with the hoisting of the national flag by the Director followed by the singing of the National Anthem and Vande Mataram song, which ignited a sense of pride and unity among all present.

The celebration included a series of cultural programs performed by the students, showcasing the diversity and rich heritage of India. The highlights included a patriotic songs singing,  speeches by students on India’s journey towards becoming a republic and faculty members reflecting on the importance of the Constitution and the values it upholds.

Sri SIDDALINGAPPA B PUJARI, Director, KILT graced the occasion and addressed the gathering, emphasizing the role of education in shaping responsible citizens who contribute to the nation’s growth. He also mention significance of 26th January being chosen as Republic Day which was influenced from Poorna Swarajya declaration in the Lahore session of INC. The principal of the institute also delivered a speech, inspiring students to uphold the ideals of democracy, equality, and justice.

To mark the day, the institute organized a special quiz and essay competition on themes related to Dr B R Ambedkar, Chief Architect of Indian Constitution and Republic Day.


The winners of Quiz competition are Madhusudan, Manu, Mohith, Akash, Satish, Manjunath and runners up are Sindhu, Bindu, Sangeetha, Hema, Preetam,Rudresh. The winners of the essay competition are first prize went to Swapna, 2nd year student, Hema of 2nd year students got second prize and Manjunath from 1st year student got third prize.
Prizes were distributed to the winners by the Director, Principal, HoD, adding an element of motivation and joy to the event.

Sri. Ranjan K.G, Principal, KILT, Sri. Niraj Kumar Goutham, HOD, KILT and other faculty along with students were present during the program.


The program concluded with a vote of thanks, followed by a pledge by the students to contribute to the nation’s progress and uphold its unity and integrity. The event served as a reminder of the sacrifices made by the freedom fighters and the importance of staying true to the democratic values of our country.
