The mysterious motion poster of Sachin Ambat’s film “Asurvan” creates a buzz on social media
On the auspicious occasion of Diwali, the much-awaited Marathi film “Asurvan”, presented by Swapnaswaroop, revealed its motion poster on social media. The poster has garnered over 1 million views, capturing the attention of audiences everywhere. Featuring a mask painted with a tiger’s face, a mystical forest, and a strong connection to tribal culture — all enhanced by powerful background music — the poster has sparked immense curiosity about what the film will unveil.
Written and directed by Sachin Ambat, Asurvan blends ancient Warli tribal traditions with a mysterious backdrop. The face shown in the poster evokes unease yet simultaneously heightens curiosity among viewers.
Speaking about the motion poster, director Sachin Ambat shared,
> “The motion poster of my debut film has just been released on social media, and the audience response has been incredible. The forest seen in the poster is a cursed forest, known as Asurvan. In the middle of that forest stands a masked figure. That mask, in the Warli tribal language, is called ‘Devacha Song,’ which means ‘the guise of God.’”
He further added,
> “The mask belongs to the wandering deity (‘Phirsatya Dev’). This deity guides the good-hearted people who get lost in the forest, but deceives those with evil intentions and traps them within the forest. Whether this Phirsatya Dev leads the way or misleads — that’s what you’ll discover in the film Asurvan. The film will soon be hitting the screens.”
