Margao,Goa: The 8th edition of Akhil Gomantakiya Daivadnya Brahmin Youth Association’s (AGDBYA’s) Daivadnya Cricket Cup 2026 was held on 17th & 18th January 2026 at S.A.G ground, Fatorda. The concluding ceremony of the cricket event was attended by Dr. Geeta Nagvenkar, Member Secretary, Goa State Pollution Control Board as the Chief Guest and Dr. Chitra D. Lotlikar, General Medicine Practitioner as the Guest of Honour.
Miss Sakshi Haldankar, National Weight lifting champion was felicitated with Daivadnya Sports Achiever Award.
A total of 17 teams from all over Goa took part in this tournament including 2 women’s teams and 2 kids’ teams. Smt. Seema Rohit Vernekar, President-AGDBYA welcomed the guests and other dignitaries and briefed about all the events, activities and other social service activities carried out by the association throughout the year. Chief Guest Dr. Geeta Nagvenkar appreciated the efforts of AGDBYA for conducting such types of events professionally and thanked the association for inviting her as the Chief Guest for the function.
The winning teams, the runner-up teams and other individuals received trophies from the guests in a grand function that was attended by more than 200 people. The prizes received are as bellow:-
- Men’s Winning team – Shree Bodgeshwar
- Men’s Runner’s up – Vernekar Warriors
- Man of the Series – Amrut Verlekar
- Best Batsman – Amrut Verlekar
- Best Bowler – Siddhesh Vernekar
- Man of the match for final – Atharv Verlekar
- Best catch – Mahendra Karekar
- Maximum sixes – Amrut Verlekar
- Emerging player – Sahil Verlekar
- Women’s Winning team – Super strikers
- Women’s Runner’s up – Dakshin warriors
- Player of the match (Women’s) – Nishita Pednekar
- Kid’s winning team – Royal 11
Miss. Aishani Lotlikar and Dr. Rajvi Lotlikar compared the function. Mrs Sampada Nagvekar, Secretary-AGDBYA gave the vote of thanks.
