Bengaluru / Chennai, 25 September, 2026 – Chevron Engineering and Innovation Excellence Center (ENGINE) and the Indian Institute of Technology Madras (IIT-Madras) have launched theChevron – IITM Energy Technology Incubation Program.
The program will support early-stage innovators, researchers and social entrepreneurs working in areas such as energy technologies, infrastructure, carbon utilization, circular economy and resource efficiency. Participants will receive pre-incubation support, technical mentorship, prototype funding and entrepreneurship guidance through IIT Madras’ research and incubation ecosystem.

Speaking on the significance of the partnership with Chevron ENGINE, Prof Ashwin Mahalingam, Dean – Alumni and Corporate Relations, IIT Madras, said:

As part of the programme, Chevron ENGINE may also contribute industry expertise, technical mentorship, employee volunteering and opportunities for engagement with innovators. IIT Madras will provide access to its established research, innovation and incubation ecosystem, creating an enabling environment for entrepreneurs to develop, test and scale promising energy technologies.
The launch of the program builds on Chevron’s ongoing engagement with IIT Madras and reflects the company’s commitment to supporting innovation, education and capacity building through strategic community partnerships.
Together, Chevron ENGINE and IIT Madras aim to strengthen India’s innovation ecosystem and support the development of future energy technology leaders.
