Among the historically rich wadas of Maharashtra, the name ‘Bhidewada’ is taken with great respect. This structure is not merely made of bricks and mud, but stands as a witness to a social revolution. It was here that Mahatma Jyotiba Phule and Krantijyoti Savitribai Phule started the country’s first school for girls, lighting the torch of women’s education. Therefore, Bhidewada is not just a structure but a symbol of the historic struggle and transformation in women’s education. This historic Bhidewada will now be seen on the Marathi silver screen. Inspired by the legacy of this iconic place, the film ‘Bhidewada’ presents the journey of a young woman’s determination, dreams, and struggles in a powerful way. Connecting inspiration from the past to the present, this story aims to offer a new direction to society.

The poster of the social film ‘Bhidewada,’ produced by Shivmudra Studios and presented by Ragho Films, has recently been unveiled. The film is directed by Shivani Rajesirke and Ajit Shirole, while production responsibilities are handled by Jayashree Shirole and Kaveri Jawale. Co-producers of the film are Supriya Shinde, Vaibhav Joshi, and Raju Vitkar.
In the film, Prajakta Gaikwad portrays the role of Krantijyoti Savitribai Phule, while Dhiresh Joshi plays Mahatma Jyotirao Phule. Along with them, the film features Madhav Abhyankar, Vaibhav Chavan, Ruturaj Wankhede, Neha Sonawane, Samrat Shirole, Shara Gaikwad, Pradeep Kothmire, Anand Pimpalkar, Samad Khan, Pratibha Bhagat, Shriram Pendse, Nikhil Nigde, Yogesh Tanpure, Pankaj Chavan, and Aniruddha Deshpande.

The story is by Ajit Shirole, with screenplay by Ajit Shirole and Akshay Katti. Dialogues are written by Akshay Katti. Lyrics are by Ishwar Andhare, and music is composed by Sagar Shinde. Editing is by Rajesh Barbole, cinematography by Yogesh Koli, art direction by Mahesh Gore, and sound by Ashok Zhurunge. The executive producer is Amit Majire.
