Spoiled Sweets Shock Residents in Kandivali During Diwali Festivities
MUMBAI -Kandivali residents Dharmesh Varthe and his wife, Shraddha Varthe, experienced a shocking incident during the Diwali celebrations. The couple purchased gulab jamun from ‘Shri Devnarayan Sweets and Farsan Mart’ in Bandar Pakhadi Market, only to discover that the sweets were spoiled. The next day, when the sweets were offered as prasad during Lakshmi Puja, they noticed a foul smell and foam emanating from them.

Concerned about the safety and health of the community, Dharmesh Varthe, who serves as a Sub-Branch Chief, approached Sub-Branch Chief Shri Shyam More of Shiv Sena Branch No. 21. Together, they filed an official complaint with the Food Adulteration Control Board, demanding an inspection and appropriate legal action against the shopkeeper. Varthe informed our correspondent about the issue, urging authorities to act swiftly to prevent such incidents.
