Brookfield Properties Powai Run 2026
Where a Neighborhood Run Becomes a City-Wide Movement for Good

Driving towards a ₹3 crore goal to uplift more lives across Mumbai

12 December 2025 | Mumbai: The Rotary Club of Mumbai Lakers today hosted the official press conference for Brookfield Properties Powai Run 2026, unveiling what promises to be the most dynamic and socially impactful edition of the iconic community marathon yet.

Born in 2012 as a neighbourhood initiative, Powai Run has evolved into one of Mumbai’s largest, most spirited, and most purpose-driven fundraising runs- bringing together runners, residents, CXOs, corporates, and change-makers who believe fitness can fuel transformation.

Impact Snapshot: A Year of Accelerated Community Transformation
Instead of looking at the impact in fragments, Rotary Lakers revealed the consolidated impact their service projects created between July 2024 and December 2025- a testament to how Powai Run fuels real change on ground.

Total Impact (July 2024-December 2025)
Projects completed: 244
Volunteer man-hours: 6,450
Lives touched: 7,960
Total community investment: ₹4.5 crore

Funds Raised Through Powai Run
In the previous edition, Powai Run generated approximately ₹2.5 crore, of which 99.9% went directly towards Rotary Club of Mumbai Lakers charitable initiatives, including:

Life-saving child heart surgeries through initiatives like Touching Little Hearts
Cancer care and patient support, strengthened by Cancer Screening Camps and ongoing Cancer Care programs
Girl child education, scholarships, and digital learning support
Disability support, including mobility aids, therapy assistance, and projects for special-needs schools
Community health and wellness programs, covering Meds for Many, vaccination drives, and preventive health camps
Environmental and sustainability initiatives, including Plastic Free Powai and tree plantation drives
Hunger alleviation efforts through the monthly Annapurna Drive

Raising the Bar: Target of ₹3 Crore for 2026
Building on last year’s ₹2.5 crore milestone, the 2026 edition aims to raise ₹3 crore, enabling Rotary Lakers to scale:
Pink Auto Project – empowering women through e-auto self-employment opportunities
Community wellness initiatives, including expanded screening camps and mental well-being programs
Women-centric projects, such as vocational training and livelihood development
Sustainability and green initiatives, deepening efforts of Plastic Free Powai and other eco-drives
Scalable, high-impact Rotary service projects, including Meds for Many, cancer care, education support, and disability-focused programs

With increased corporate participation and stronger on-ground collaborations, 2026 is set to be a landmark year.
In the words of those shaping and experiencing the movement:
Eakta Menon, Club President, “Powai Run isn’t just our flagship fundraiser- it’s the heartbeat of our year-long service. Every step taken by a participant powers a project that changes a life.”
Aafreen Iyer, Club Director, “Each sponsor, each runner, each volunteer becomes part of a ripple effect that stretches far beyond race day. This is community action at its most meaningful.”
