“K-Food Universe India” Opened During the Country’s Biggest Festival, Diwali!
The Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs and the Korea Agro-Fisheries & Food Trade Corporation (“aT”) brought Korean flavors and culture to India’s financial capital, Mumbai, with the launch of “K-Food Universe India.” The event runs from October 15th to November 1st, coinciding with Diwali – India’s biggest and most vibrant festival of lights.
For 18 days, the outdoor plaza of the upscale shopping mall ‘Jio World Drive’ is transformed into a lively space where visitors can taste, purchase, and experience a wide variety of K-Food products while enjoying K-Culture events.

The venue features several themed zones, including the K-Market Street (sales zone), K-Food Picnic (F&B zone), K-Taste Pehla (market testing zone), and Touch & Feel Korea (cultural experience zone).
Throughout the event, visitors can enjoy food tastings, cultural programs such as K-pop cover dance performances, Korean traditional games, and even a fun OX quiz about Korean food culture.


On October 17th, a special media day (All the leading Media people) was held in cooperation with the Consulate General of Korea in Mumbai. His Excellency Mr. Yoo Dongwan -Consul General of South Korea presided the event.
Special Selected Guests including Mr. Nileish Malhotra – ICIB Media and Film Chairman; Malhotra Productions – Actor, Director, Producer; Dr. Suraina Malhotra – Chairperson – All India IT Cell & women’s Social Media – Nationalist Congress Party (Sharad Pawar); National General Secretary – NMC-SP; Mr. Dhruvnath Malhotra – Assistant Manager – Business Development – Parksons Cartamundi Pvt. Ltd & others. Eminent Local journalists were invited to participate in a live K-Food cooking demonstration and tasting session designed to raise awareness of Korean cuisine and the pop-up event.
To attract more visitors, aT also planned to promote the event through local radio stations and popular social influencers throughout the festival period.
