Pranav Birje |  Senior Correspondent

The long weekend is here, and it makes for the perfect time to indulge in exciting new releases. From courtroom drama to supernatural thriller, we’ve jotted down five exciting titles for you to binge-watch, grab some popcorn, hit the dim lights, and simply make the most out of the weekend!

Court Kacheri: Recently released on Sony LIV, Court Kacheri is a coming-of-age legal drama that also focuses on a fractured father-son relationship. It stars substantial faces, including Ashish Verma, Pawan Malhotra, and Puneet Batra among others. Ashish Verma, in particular, steals the show by portraying a young man searching for himself amid a system where he feels out of place – and the audiences are glad he could display his acting range with a sizeable role that brings out the actor in him.  The series is receiving good reviews from the audience and critics, especially for its impactful performances and thoughtful storyline.

Andhera: Andhera is worth stepping into if you’re looking for an unsettling horror that brings together hints of noir, human psyche and dread that seeps into the skin. Starring Karanvir Malhotra, Prajakta Koli, Priya Bapat and Surveen Chawla among others, the series is out on Amazon Prime Video and is receiving rave reviews for its edgy storyline.

Sena: Guardians of the Nation: This TVF action-drama combines military precision with family drama to serve as the perfect entertaining watch this weekend. Starring Vikram Singh Chauhan, Yashpal Sharma and Rahul Tewari among others, the plot weaves a balance between the grit of Indian Army with the tenderness of the father-son bond. The show is currently streaming on Amazon Prime Video.

Tehran: John Abraham is back with another patriotic thriller, and he doesn’t disappoint yet again. Tehran draws from the alleged Iranian attack on Israeli embassies in India, Georgia, and Thailand in 2012. The geopolitical thriller displays action and highlights the human cost of conflict with impactful performances. Directed by Arun Gopalan, the film can be enjoyed on Zee5.

Saare Jahan Se Accha: Pratik Gandhi, Sunny Hinduja, and Kritika Kamra starrer Saare Jahan Se Accha is a taut spy thriller with sharp, edge-of-the-seat performances. Having recently been released on Netflix, this entertainer promises a gripping ride into the world of spies and politics. Without overcomplicating or oversimplifying the story, this show keeps you invested in its characters and twists.

Now that you have your binge-watch list in hand for the long weekend, it’s time for you to press the ‘play’ button!
