Customs officers at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International (CSMI) Airport, Mumbai, seized 11.322 kilograms of hydroponic weed (marijuana) on December 19, 2024. The illicit narcotics, worth approximately ₹11.322 crores, was found concealed in vacuum-sealed plastic pouches inside a trolley bag.
Acting on spot profiling, officers intercepted a passenger arriving from Bangkok and conducted a thorough inspection, uncovering the hidden drugs and confiscated the same. Authorities arrested the passenger under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act of 1985. The investigation is ongoing.
