After directing superhit songs like Avadhoot Gupte’s “Pavan Jevla Kay” and the most sensational Gautami Patil’s “Cheez Lai Kadak,” director Vicky Wagh is back with a new song. On the occasion of Navratri, JSB Production has released “Ambabai,” directed by Vicky Wagh. The song is receiving appreciation from the audience. Karan Gaikwad, Neha Posarekar, Yogita Mane, Santosh Pakhare, and Vicky Wagh himself play key roles in the video. Vicky Wagh has written, composed, and directed the song, while JSB Production has produced it. The shooting took place in Kolhapur.
Speaking about the concept, director Vicky Wagh said,
“I always wanted to create an energetic song. On the occasion of Navratri, I started writing ‘Ambabai,’ and while doing so, the composition also came to me naturally. We experimented a lot to find the right voice for this song, and in the end, I decided to record it myself. Through this song, I wanted to talk about those devotees of Ambabai whom we often neglect or fail to give due respect—such as the transgender community, sambal drummers, Vasudevs, Lavani artists, Gondhali performers, and Jogti women who seek alms. These folk artists have preserved Maharashtra’s heritage and culture for generations, and ‘Ambabai’ is my tribute to them.”
He further shared about the shooting experience,
“The entire team shot for 24 hours without sleep because the energy of the ‘Ambabai’ song gave us that strength. The song conveys the message of ‘Respect Everyone.’ Seeing the overwhelming response from the audience, I’m confident the song and its social message will win their hearts. I request my audience to shower the same love on ‘Ambabai’ as they did on my earlier songs. Wishing you all a blessed and joyous Navratri.”
