‘Ek Hota Malin’: An Entire Village Wiped Into History in a Single Rain
The thriller of Malin village, which was buried due to a landslide caused by heavy rains a few years ago, is now coming to the big screen. The trailer of the film ‘Ek Hota Malin’, which is scheduled to release on July 24, has been launched. Being the first Marathi film based on a natural disaster, it is bound to be unique.
Santosh Jagannath Mhatre of Dream Dot Creation Production has produced this film, while Rupesh Rane, Arun Konje, Dattatray Gaikar, and Raju Rane are the co-producers. Nandu Meher, Rupesh Rane, Arun Konje, Pankaj Mhatre, Shriram Bhagat, Akshay Mhatre, and Raju Rane of Ran Studios Production have presented the film. The concept, story, and screenplay of the film are by Raju Rane, while Dattatray Gaikar and Raju Rane have written the story, dialogues, and directed the film. Excellent actors such as Prashant Mohite, Ashwini Kasar, Abhijit Shwetchandra, Siddhi Patne, Anil Nagarkar, Prashant Tapasvi, Ramchandra Dhumal, Akshay Mhatre, Deepjyoti Naik, and Anuj Thackeray play lead roles in the movie. Raja Phadtare handled the cinematography, Yuvraj Gongle wrote the lyrics and directed the music, and the songs in the film have been sung by Ajay Gogavale, Javed Ali, Anandi Joshi, and Haridas Shinde. The art direction is by Nitesh Nandgaonker, VFX by Rehman Abdullah, and Mahesh Bharambe is the executive producer.
The story of the cinema is entirely based on a true incident. The directors of the film, Raju Rane and Dattatray Gaikar, have made every effort to present an accurate plot by interacting directly with the villagers of Malin and gathering the right information from them. The set of Malin village is particularly noteworthy. The scenes in the film are shocking and stunning. The intensity of that incident can be felt through the trailer of the film. However, beyond just the incident of the village being wiped into history, the film offers a touching story of relationships, love, and human emotions.
