Bengaluru – 25 August 2025: As India gears up for its most-awaited shopping festival, ‘The Big Billion Days’, Flipkart, India’s homegrown e-commerce marketplace, is fortifying its people, partners, and PAN-India logistics to power high-volume deliveries with agility and precision. In the lead-up to the festive season, Flipkart is scaling employment opportunities, infrastructure, and tech deployments across 28 states. With the creation of over 2.2 lakh+ job opportunities, expanded last-mile reach, and inclusive hiring across Tier 2 and 3 cities, Flipkart’s ecosystem-first approach this festive season is built for scale.
Key highlights:
● 2.2 lakh+ additional seasonal job opportunities created across supply chain, logistics and last-mile delivery roles
● 15% of new hires are first-time workforce entrants; roles include pickers, packers, sorters, and delivery executives
● Significant increase in hiring of women, PwDs and LGBTQIA+ associates compared to TBBD 2024
Last-Mile Reach Expansion
Flipkart’s festive readiness brings together all elements of its ecosystem – a diverse workforce, infrastructure, tech platforms, and last-mile networks – to deliver at scale while staying deeply committed to growth for all. With technology at the core of smart logistics operations, including AI-powered demand planning, advanced automation for sortation accuracy, and predictive inventory tools, Flipkart is ensuring that its supply chain is not only fast but future-ready. The organisation has created over 2.2 lakh jobs this season, across warehousing, delivery, team leads, and customer experience verticals. Flipkart’s logistics network, which covers all serviceable pincodes, will see the expansion of 650 new festive-only delivery hubs in cities such as Siliguri, Kundli, Jakhar, including Tier 2 and 3 cities, directly and positively impacting the seasonal job ecosystem.
Inclusion, Upskilling, and Social Impact at the Core
The hiring initiative includes a strong emphasis on inclusivity and empowerment, with a 10% growth in women and PwD hiring across supply chain operations. With a YoY increase observed in the hiring of women and PwD associates, and dedicated efforts to integrate LGBTQIA+ talent across functions, Flipkart is furthering its vision of equitable opportunity for everyone. It continues to partner with social sector organizations to train and onboard individuals from underrepresented communities into logistics roles. Additionally, through the Supply Chain Operations Academy (SCOA), Flipkart has trained thousands of candidates so far and plans to upskill 10,000 additional associates by the end of 2025. This serves as a testament to building an e-commerce-ready workforce trained in safety, tech tools, and warehouse best practices.
Over 6,000 students pursuing graduation have been trained on supply chain operations through a combination of digital and classroom training.

Seema Nair – CHRO at Flipkart says, “At Flipkart, The Big Billion Days is a celebration of scale, speed, and shared progress. This year, we have strengthened our capabilities ahead of the festive season, focusing on building an inclusive workforce, expanding our supply chain people network, and creating more inclusive job opportunities in the ecosystem, backed by technology and sustainable practices. Our focus on festive readiness is on creating lasting value for the communities and partners who power our network and daily deliveries.”
