Pranav Birje | The News Bulletins
It’s often said there’s a lull before the storm — and for actress Anupma Agnihotri, that holds true. After making her Bollywood debut opposite none other than Govinda in producer Pahlaj Nihalani’s Rangeela Raja, Anupma is now preparing for her next big project.
Interestingly, Nihalani was the same producer who gave Govinda his first break in Ilzam, a film that catapulted the star into stardom. Following in those footsteps, Anupma too is ready to script her own journey in the film industry. With her trademark smile, she quips, “Wait for the announcement.”
In the meantime, she has been keeping herself busy with modeling shoots, brand endorsements, and promotions.

A Journey of Growth and Challenges
Reflecting on her career, Anupma describes it as an exciting mix of growth, challenges, and memorable experiences.
“I started out in modeling, working on fashion shows and commercial shoots. That helped me gain confidence in front of the camera and learn how to express different moods and styles. Transitioning into acting opened up a whole new creative world for me. Every project — whether films, commercials, or stage performances — pushed me to explore emotions and connect with audiences on a deeper level,” she said with positivity.

Bollywood Dreams That Weren’t Planned
Interestingly, acting wasn’t on Anupma’s childhood wishlist.
“No, I never even dreamed I’d come to Mumbai or join the film industry,” she admits candidly.
Her entry into Mumbai was almost accidental. “I came to visit a friend and instantly fell in love with the city. Compared to other places, I found Mumbai safe for girls, and that gave me the courage to stay.”
From there, modeling happened first — and soon after, acting caught her attention.

Facing Competition in Bollywood
With so many newcomers vying for opportunities in Bollywood, how does Anupma plan to stay ahead?
“I don’t believe in competing with anyone. My focus is on continuous learning — whether it’s acting workshops, dance classes, voice training, or adding new skills to my craft. I also believe in building genuine connections because this industry thrives on relationships. Above all, I remind myself to stay consistent and patient. Many people give up too early. For me, rejection is just part of the journey — each ‘No’ helps me grow and refine my skills,” she explains with conviction.
Idols and Inspirations
Like many actors, Anupma looks up to Bollywood icons for inspiration.
“My idol is Shah Rukh Khan. His journey — from a middle-class background with no connections to becoming a global superstar — inspires me. His hard work, charisma, and ability to reinvent himself are lessons for every aspiring actor,” she says.
She also admires Deepika Padukone for her versatility. “From Chhapaak to commercial blockbusters, she has shown remarkable range.”

Life Beyond the Camera
When she’s not working, Anupma enjoys reading books, watching old movies, and practicing yoga. “It keeps me fit and relaxed. Spending time with close friends or walking by the sea always recharges me,” she smiles.
Looking Ahead
With her strong determination, infectious positivity, and practical outlook, Anupma Agnihotri is steadily carving her space in the film industry. As fans await her next big announcement, one thing is certain — this young actress is here to stay.
Way to go, Anupma!
