The National Film Development Corporation (NFDC), Ministry of Information & Broadcasting, Government of India, is proud to announce the co-production of the Indo-Swiss feature film Tara & Akash: Love Beyond Realms, directed by debut filmmaker Srinivas Abrol.
The film, produced in collaboration with Whispers from Eternity Films and Switzerland Tourism, blends romance with magical realism, narrating the extraordinary journey of a young woman, Tara, who on a solo trip to Switzerland meets Akash, a mysterious Light Being from another realm. Their destined encounter explores themes of love, destiny, and transcendence, set against the breathtaking landscapes of Switzerland.
Selected under the prestigious Film Bazaar 2023 – Viewing Room and Debut Director Co-Production Programme, Tara & Akash has already garnered global attention. The film was showcased at Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) and the International Film Festival of India (IFFI), Goa, receiving acclaim for its unique storytelling and visual brilliance.
The stellar cast features Jitesh Thakur (as Akash), Alankrita Bora (as Tara), alongside celebrated actors Amol Palekar, Deepti Naval, and Brijendra Kala. Cinematography by Ateet Singh captures Switzerland’s ethereal beauty, enhancing the film’s dreamlike quality.
Speaking about the project, Director Srinivas Abrol said:

Co-produced under NFDC’s initiative to support debut directors and promote international collaborations, the film marks a milestone in Indo-Swiss cinematic ties.
