Pranav –Tammy what did you like about the International Film Festival of India?
Tammy -Goa has turned into a cinematic paradise. We had a chance to celebrate the art of filmmaking and cultivate the meaningful connections in the global film industry. I was so happy that Australia was the country of focus this year at IFFI. We celebrated the contributions of Australian cinema to the global film industry, highlighting its storytelling traditions and vibrant film culture. I felt truly blessed to have met the spiritual leader of India Gurudev Shri Shri Ravi Shankar.

–What was your experience of meeting Indian guru and spiritual leader?
Tammy -I was impressed by his simplicity, naturalness and easy availability. This is very rare to see in famous mass leaders. He continues to spread waves of happiness and peace on the planet.
– You are starring in a Hindi film “Chola” can you tell us about the film?
Tammy– “Chola” is a spiritual thriller. It’s about self-discovery, soul growth and enlightenment. The best message you get from this movie is that when ego dies off, we understand ourselves better, we make better decisions. By exploring who we are we start living more fulfilling lives full of light and love. My character’s name is Rita. She comes from the USA to India to study Indian mythology at the university. Rita falls in love with the young professor Avinaj. She acknowledges that true love demands detachment and sacrifice. Rita reaches her self- realization In India and becomes whole as her individual self.

– Do you believe talent or training is more important to an actor?
Tammy– Almost anybody can learn to speak a line in a certain way at a certain time. The main thing is to understand the character and its relationship to all other characters. Acing is living authentically under fictional circumstances. I would say the potential for great acting is a natural talent.
– Have you ever handled last minute script changes?
Tammy– During filming it’s not uncommon for scripts to undergo changes, sometimes quite suddenly. It happened to me many times. I understand the importance of flexibility in the workplace. I respond quickly to changes when the need arises. Actually, I love improvisation. It brings spontaneity in me and something unexpected and genuine to a scene.
– How do you think after watching “Chola” what will be the reaction of the audience?
Tammy– I think after watching this film audience will look at the world from a different perspective. I put my heart and soul in this project. I hope audience will enjoy my performance and fall in love with my character- Rita.
