Marathi cinema is all set to witness a unique and historic milestone with the upcoming film “Lagna Ani Barach Kahi” (Marriage and Much More). Directed by Vedanti Dani and presented by Mhalsa Entertainment and Avyan Arts, this film stands apart as a creation made entirely by women — for women. This rare and inspiring initiative will be officially announced on the auspicious occasion of Vijayadashami. What makes it truly special is that the entire crew will comprise women, making it a proud moment for Marathi cinema. The most remarkable highlight — the film is set to release on 8th March 2026, International Women’s Day.
The film is directed by Vedanti Dani and produced by Sanjana Suresh Pai and Anjali Nannajkar. The story is penned by Yashashri Masurkar, with cinematography by Smita Nirmal and music composed by the renowned Vaishali Samant. Editing will be handled by Bhakti Mayalu, production design by Mugdha Kulkarni, beauty styling by Supriya Shinde, PR by Pradnya Sumathi Shetty, and digital marketing by Ashmiki Tilekar.
Adding life to this powerful story on screen will be talented actresses Pooja Sawant and Sharmila Rajaram Shinde.
