National Union of Journalists India Maharashtra unit meeting concluded

NUJ Maharashtra will intensify its struggle for the interests of journalists in Maharashtra – Shri S Kumar. A special meeting was held at Raigad Military School, Oshiwara, Mumbai under the chairmanship of Hansraj Kanojia, President of Maharashtra unit of the country’s largest journalist organization “National Union of Journalists India. In this meeting, National Union of Journalists India’s National Vice President Shri S Kumar expressed his views while talking to journalists and said that NUJI is an organization fighting for the rights and security of journalists across the country for the last 53 years. 

He said that the previous experience has been very bad compared to this newly elected National Union of Journalists Maharashtra unit, due to which the journalists were not able to get those facilities. S Kumar further said that in this era, the number of journalists in media institutions is decreasing, due to which the financial condition of journalists is becoming very weak. The result is that journalists are forced to work in small banners instead of big banners. Reacting to this, Maharashtra Women Media Cell President Mrs. Sanjana Gandhi Bharti said that we will not tolerate the atrocities being committed on women media journalists. She said that the National Union of Journalists India will intensify every possible effort to get justice against the atrocities being committed on women journalists. On this occasion, National Union of Journalists India National Vice President Mr. S Kumar, Maharashtra Women Media Cell President Mrs. Sanjana Gandhi Bharti, Raigad Military School Managing President Raju Gharat, Mrs. Sharwari Joshi, Baba Londhe (Vice President), Sardar Uttam Singh (Treasurer), PC Kapadia (Secretary), Raj Pandey (Secretary), Manish Seth (Secretary), Media Spokesperson Imtiaz Azmi, Committee Member Arjun Kamble, Kalpesh Mhatre, Ramakant Munde (Bollywood Press Photographer), and a large number of journalists were present.

Addressing the journalists, Hansraj Kanojia, President of Maharashtra unit of National Union of Journalist India said that we will make the organization of journalists so strong in every district of Maharashtra including Mumbai that in the coming time we can solve the education and health related problems of the families of journalists. Kanojia further said that not only in Maharashtra but in the entire country, journalists are not able to maintain their families and educate their children properly, the main reason for this is that many journalists do not have a formal degree but they have the qualifications yet they do not have a job. He said that we will intensify efforts to provide monthly allowance of Rs 20,000 to senior journalists who have turned 60 years old under the new pension scheme of the government.
