The much-anticipated second season of Dhootha has officially gone on the floors. Actor Parvathy Thiruvothu shared glimpses from the show’s pooja ceremony on her social media stories, giving fans a sneak peek into the beginning of the next chapter of the acclaimed supernatural thriller. The actress, who played the pivotal role of DCP Kranthi Shenoy in the first season, was seen alongside Naga Chaitanya at the ceremony.
Adding to the occasion’s significance, actor Nagarjuna Akkineni was present to give the ceremonial first clap, marking the official commencement of the shoot.

Opening up about returning to the series, Parvathy said, “It feels good to be back in the world of Dhootha. Kranthi has stayed with me long after the first season, and I’m excited to step into her shoes again. She’s a character who is constantly searching for answers, and that pursuit of truth is something I find deeply compelling. Returning for a second season gives us the chance to revisit these characters with a deeper understanding of who they are and what drives them. Reuniting with Naga and the entire team makes it even more special, and I’m looking forward to building the world we created together. What I love most is that this story still has so many layers left to unfold, and that’s what makes returning to it so exciting.”
Created by Vikram Kumar, Dhootha emerged as one of the most talked-about Indian web series upon its release. Among its standout performances was Parvathy Thiruvothu’s portrayal of DCP Kranthi Shenoy, a fiercely intelligent and determined officer investigating the string of mysterious incidents at the centre of the story. Alongside her, Naga Chaitanya delivered a compelling performance as Sagar, helping drive the suspense and emotional stakes of the narrative.
On the work front, Parvathy will next be seen in the upcoming series Storm and the feature film I, Nobody, further expanding her diverse and critically acclaimed body of work.
