Premiere Show on November 21
The Marathi professional theatre scene is currently witnessing a wave of outstanding plays, all receiving an enthusiastic response from audiences. Adding to this vibrant lineup is a brand-new play titled “Laagli Paij?” (meaning “The Bet is On?”). The play was officially announced on social media to mark Marathi Theatre Day.
Known for his charming on-screen persona and for winning the hearts of young audiences through several popular TV serials, actor Yashoman Apte will be seen in the lead role. Joining him is Rumani Khare, who will make her professional theatre debut with this production. The premiere performance of “Laagli Paij?” is scheduled for November 21 at 4 PM at Dinananath Natyagruha.

Produced under the banner of Prabhat Theatres, the play is produced by Jyoti Kathapurkar and Nikhil Karande, with Jyoti Patil, Priyanka Bisht, Rupa Karosia, and Manoj Mote serving as co-producers. The story is written by Harshad Pramod Kathapurkar, and the play is directed by Ankur Arun Kakatkar. Along with Yashoman Apte and Rumani Khare, the cast also features Supriya Vinod and Shantanu Ambadekar in key roles.
After a long hiatus, renowned lyricist and poet Sandeep Khare has penned songs for a play once again. The music for his lyrics has been composed by Sai-Piyush, while Santosh Shidam serves as the narrator.
“Laagli Paij?” explores the complexities of modern relationships among today’s youth. Rumani Khare, daughter of lyricist Sandeep Khare, has already acted in several films, but this play marks her first venture into professional theatre. The story revolves around the emotional dilemmas that arise when love and ambition collide. The central couple, Aditya and Reva, are caught in a pattern of constant bets — until one day, they decide to bet on their own relationship. What happens next forms the crux of the play — an answer audiences will discover only after watching “Laagli Paij?”.
