In life, no matter how much hard work, effort, and struggle one puts in to reach the top, everyone wishes at least once to stumble upon a treasure and become rich in the blink of an eye. The upcoming Marathi film Ghabadkund will tell the story of such a treasure and those who seek it. The word Ghabad means sudden acquisition of wealth, winning a lottery, or a complete turnaround of fortune. Kund means a well or a deep place where water collects. Combining the two, the film has been given the striking title Ghabadkund. Notably, a grand, extravagant, and visually stunning set has been built for this film, which is sure to capture the audience’s attention on the big screen.
Following the huge success of Alyad Palyad, director Pritam S. K. Patil, producer Rasik Kadam, and co-producer Smita Paigude-Anjute are now bringing audiences a suspense thriller. Packed with action, comedy, and mystery, Ghabadkund will be a visual treat for viewers. The film’s storyline is mysterious, with many magical events unfolding. Director Pritam Patil promises another gripping, big-budget project with Ghabadkund. The film’s set has been erected near Khed-Shivapur, Pune, covering an area of 10,000–12,000 square feet. The elaborate set includes a water reservoir, deep wells, ancient temples, caves, and hidden passageways—perfect for shooting mysterious, suspense-filled sequences.

The film stars Devdatta Nage, Kushal Badrike, Sandeep Pathak, Shashank Shende, Prajakta Hanamghar, Smita Paigude-Anjute, Vaishnavi Kalyankar, Rocky Deshmukh, Aarohi Bhoir, Sahil Analdevar, and others—ready to entertain audiences.
For the first time in Marathi cinema, such a grand set has been created. Popular actors from various media will be seen portraying diverse characters in the film. Alongside mystery and suspense, the story will also explore humor and the complexities of relationships. As characters search for the treasure, their mutual distrust and suspicion will heighten the intrigue. From its title to its presentation, Ghabadkund promises to be a high-quality, big-budget film set to release early next year. The cast and crew are working tirelessly to give audiences a truly “larger-than-life” cinematic experience.
Speaking about the project, director Pritam S. K. Patil said,
> “Through Ghabadkund, we aim to prove that Marathi cinema can have a massive and grand canvas. With exceptional set design, music, cinematography, editing, acting, and computer graphics, I’m confident that Ghabadkund will be a tremendous success based on its story and presentation.”
Though the film is undoubtedly expensive to make, the heart of any movie lies in telling a compelling story and presenting it well. Producer Rasik Kadam and co-producer Smita Paigude-Anjute said,
> “We didn’t want to compromise on that front. Our company, Icon The Style, which works in various sectors, is now stepping into the entertainment industry with Ghabadkund, and we are confident audiences will appreciate our unique effort.”
With special support from Valentina Industries Ltd., Ghabadkund will be released in Marathi, Hindi, and Telugu. The film is written by Sanjay Navgire and Akshay Dharampal.
