Pranav Birje | The News Bulletins

The 56th edition of the International Film Festival of India 2025 (IFFI 2025) is scheduled from 20th November to 28th November 2025. As a regular event during IFFI, the Entertainment Society of Goa has special section of Premier/Non Premiere films produced by Goan film Directors & producers in Feature and Non Feature category.

This year ESG received total of 17 entries in both the sections. Out of which 5 films are selected by Jury members.

ESG thanks all 3 Jury Members for the excellent work done.
Shri P. Sheshadri, Chairman of Jury, M/s Priya Krishnaswamy, Member of the Jury and Shri Rajeev Bhatia, Member of the Jury, who are distinct professionals from the Indian Film Industry.

ESG also congratulates all the Directors, Producers, casts and crews and all those who are involved outside and inside to make these films as the films have got selected for IFFI screenings.

Following are the movies that are being selected:-

Goan Directors cut
1) ZERO BULB directed by Soham Prasad Bhende (Non feature, Premiere)

2)HALAD directed by  Sobita Kudtarkar (Non feature, Premiere)

3)”MY DAD INVENTED THE VADAPAV” ASHOK VAIDYA AND SONS directed by Sainath Uskaikar (Non feature, Non Premiere)

Goan Producers Cut
1)MERAKI, BY THE SEA produced by Dr. Gwendolynn De Ornelas (Non feature, Premiere)
2)GHAR produced by Sahit Studios LLP (Non feature, Premiere)

Insides
1. Open-air screenings will be held at Miramar Beach, Ravindra Bhavan Fatorda and Vagator Beach parking (Helipad) Beach.

2. IFFI Mile from ESG to Kala Academy Stalls and other activities for people engagement.

3. IFFI Parade on 20th Nov 2025 in lieu of the traditional opening ceremony that includes Floats of Shigmo and Carnival.

4. Free transport facilities for Delegates that includes Rickshaws, Pool cars & KTC electric Buses (8.30 am to till the last movie show).

5. 3 routes for buses 
1) Miramar circle to Inox Porvorim & Vice Versa,
2) Miramar circle to Magic Moviez-Ponda & Vice versa 
3) Miramar to Ravindra Bhavan, Margao & Vice versa 

IFFI Float Parade on 20th November 2025

The 56th International Film Festival of India (IFFI) will host its grand IFFI Float Parade on 20th November 2025, marking the ceremonial opening celebrations of the festival. The parade will commence from the Old GMC Building at 3:30 PM and proceed towards Kala Academy, showcasing the vibrant spirit of Indian cinema and Goan cultural artistry.

This years parade is themed Celebrating Indian Cinema, India on Global Platform and the Future of Cinema. The event will consist of two segments

Segment 1 – Goan Cultural Floats

This segment features floats created by talented Goan individuals and cultural groups. A total of 12 Goan groups will participate in the competition.

Prizes for Segment 1

1st Prize – ₹3,50,000
2nd Prize – ₹3,00,000
3rd Prize – ₹2,50,000
4th Prize – ₹2,00,000
5th Prize – ₹1,50,0005

Consolation Prizes – ₹1,00,000 each. Remuneration of ₹30,000 each will be paid to all participating float groups not receiving any prize.

Segment 2 – Promotional Floats

This segment will feature promotional floats by production houses, media houses, and other creative industry stakeholders.

Romtamel Competition (21st to 25th November 2025)

As part of IFFIs cultural celebrations, the Romtamel traditional performance competition will be held from 21st to 25th November 2025, featuring 10 leading Romtamel groups from across Goa.
