More than 500 junior players will be seen in action at the The Yonex Sunrise Gautam Thakkar Memorial Maharashtra State Junior Badminton Championship, scheduled from December 17 to 21 at the Bombay Gymkhana.

The tournament, promoted by Badminton Gurukul, will feature singles matches for boys and girls in the age groups of U-11, U-13 and U-15 and doubles matches for boys and girls U-15.

“As a close friend of Mr. Gautam Thakkar, I am honored to sponsor this event and continue his legacy. Mr. Thakkar has won the Junior Asian Badminton Championship. This tournament is a wonderful initiative to nurture young talent and strengthen the foundation of badminton in Maharashtra.
