Former MP Gopal Shetty has written a letter to Chief Minister Mrs. Rekha Gupta, expressing his gratitude for her sensitivity and cooperation towards the animal service work of Delhi’s Jagriti Mishra.
Commending the Chief Minister for her prompt response, Shetty praised her decision to visit the site personally and grant financial assistance of ₹5 lakh to support Mishra’s rescue and welfare work for stray dogs. He described the government’s gesture as a clear example of sensitivity, compassion, and human values.
Shetty also lauded Mishra’s resilience throughout the incident. He noted that Mishra stood her ground firmly and voiced her protest with dignity, balanced language, and confidence, while also using social media effectively to bring national attention to the issue.
Emphasizing accountability, Shetty stated that strict and immediate action must be taken against the officials who carried out the demolition without adhering to due legal procedures. He stressed that arbitrary demolitions of homes, businesses, or public welfare projects must stop, especially when courts across the country have issued clear guidelines regarding animal protection and shelter care.
In his concluding remarks, Shetty said that social and political leaders should draw inspiration from Mishra’s dedication to animal welfare. He added that if the administration continues to back dedicated youth like her, many more young citizens will step forward to serve society.
