MUMBAI — In a major initiative to enhance passenger comfort and accessibility, the Inner Wheel Club of Borivali has commenced the distribution of 50 wheelchairs across 22 railway stations and two railway hospitals along the Mumbai–Surat corridor.

The initiative, envisioned as a dream project by Jaynisha Sampat, President of the Inner Wheel Club of Borivali, was officially inaugurated during a special ceremony held at the Borivali Railway Station premises.

The project aims to provide seamless mobility and critical transit assistance to elderly passengers, individuals with disabilities, and medical patients traveling on Western Railway’s high-frequency route.

The inaugural event witnessed the presence of key railway officials and prominent club dignitaries. Notable attendees included:

  • Mona Gyani, District Chairman, Inner Wheel Club District 314
  • Jaynisha Sampat, President, Inner Wheel Club of Borivali
  • PDC Dr. Madhavi Pandya, Publicizing Chairman
  • Gajendra Trivedi, Divisional Commercial Manager (DCM), Western Railway

  • Key members and executive representatives Ketal Tapriwala, Jigna Mestry, and Chetna Shinde, alongside fellow members of the club.
