Acclaimed filmmaker Rahi Anil Barve—best known for the critically lauded Tumbbad—is set to unveil his next Hindi feature film, Mayasabha (The Hall of Illusion), with a World Premiere at the closing ceremony of the Jagran Film Festival, Mumbai, on Sunday, 16 November. The premiere will take place during the festival’s concluding showcase at Cinépolis, Fun Republic Mall, Andheri West, marking a major moment for the team as the film prepares for its global journey.
Presented at one of India’s most respected film festivals ahead of its theatrical release, Mayasabha arrives with significant anticipation from cinema lovers, critics and industry professionals.
Mayasabha delves into the shadowed alleys and forgotten corners of Mumbai, unraveling a gripping narrative where greed, fear, sin and illusion collide. The story brings together characters from starkly different walks of life, bound by a dangerous and long-buried legend of hidden gold.
As they navigate a maze of illusions—both real and imagined—the narrative peels back layers of human vulnerability, darkness and survival. Staying true to Barve’s signature style, the film is filled with symbolism, atmospheric tension and haunting realism that leaves a lasting imprint.
