Marking its 3rd Anniversary with a Grand Celebration
Mumbai, April 3rd, 2026 – The Nita Mukesh Ambani Cultural Centre (NMACC), India’s first-of-its-kind multidisciplinary arts and culture destination, marks three transformative years of putting culture at the centre. Since its opening in March 2023, the Centre has hosted over 3,500 shows, welcomed nearly 2.5 million guests, and showcased more than 10,500 artists across music, theatre, dance, visual arts, and interdisciplinary formats in more than 15 languages – bringing the best of India and the world.

“Three years of NMACC, and what fills my heart is not the scale of what we have built, but the warmth of what we have shared,” said Mrs. Nita M. Ambani, Founder and Chairperson. “Every artist who called our stage home, every child who discovered the arts here, every guest who left with a renewed sense of joy and inspiration – this Centre belongs to all of you.”

To commemorate this milestone, NMACC presents a celebration of immersive cultural experiences across its venues, with the specially curated Grand Theatre showcase, Ek Sur – Bharat Ki Awaaz, at the heart of the festivities. Taking centre stage on April 3 and 4, the performance offers a sweeping exploration of India’s rich soundscape, blending timeless Bollywood classics with contemporary energy. Led by Grammy Award-winning maestro Shankar Mahadevan and the celebrated Shreya Ghoshal, the ensemble brings together Ehsaan Noorani, Loy Mendonsa, Mame Khan, Osman & Aamir Mir, and Ojas Adhiya. The spirit of Ek Sur extends to the dining experience through a limited-edition anniversary menu inspired by India’s culinary heritage.

The celebrations continue across NMACC’s Studio Theatre and The Cube from April 2 to April 5, with a rich and varied programme – the folk melodies of the Nandy Sisters, devotional music by Agam Aggarwal, Bharatanatyam by Radhe Jaggi, poetic theatre through Ek Mulaqat, a multisensory sitar experience with Swayam Sitar, and contemporary dance by the Tanusree Shankar Dance Company. The festive energy flows outdoors to Dhirubhai Ambani Square, with high-energy percussion from Rhythm of Soil and Lok Rang: Colours of Folk curated by Prashant Bhafalekar – celebrating India’s rich regional traditions in a communal, open-air setting.

This anniversary season also ushers in new beginnings. NMACC introduces certified arts workshops for young learners and guided tours that invite visitors to engage more deeply with the Centre and its spaces. A new talk series opens an intimate window into the lives and craft of celebrated artists, with In Conversation with Kumud Mishra as its inaugural edition.

Over the past three years, The Grand Theatre has set new benchmarks for live entertainment in India, presenting landmark global productions including The Sound of Music, MAMMA MIA!, West Side Story, Matilda The Musical, Life of Pi, Phantom of the Opera, The Nutcracker on Ice, and Wicked The Musical, alongside celebrated Indian productions such as Mughal-e-Azam: The Musical, The Great Indian Musical: Civilization to Nation, and Rajadhiraaj: Love. Life. Leela, as well as a vibrant spectrum of classical, folk, contemporary, and regional performances.

The Studio Theatre and The Cube have become central pillars of Mumbai’s cultural calendar, offering intimate and experimental performances year-round. Since 2025, NMACC has conducted over 30 workshops, including several under the NMACC Bachpan festival nurturing creativity among children and young learners

The Art House has strengthened the Centre’s commitment to visual arts through internationally significant exhibitions in collaboration with London’s Natural History Museum, the Dia Art Foundation, Bvlgari, and Qatar Museums’ Dadu, among others. Beyond its performance and exhibition spaces, NMACC’s cultural world encompasses Fountain of Joy, NMACC Arts Cafe, the recently launched NMACC Theatre Cafe at the historic Eros Building in Fort, the artisanal retail initiative Swadesh, and the growing Friends of NMACC community – all building lasting connections across the city and beyond.

As it steps into its fourth year, the Nita Mukesh Ambani Cultural Centre remains rooted in the belief that India deserves a cultural home of the highest global excellence, and that the arts – experienced together – have the power to move, unite, and transform. With culture at the centre of everything it does, NMACC invites audiences to continue this journey and explore all that lies ahead.
